Tonfotos
A unique feature of Tonfotos is that the application combines the functions of a cataloger and a genealogical research program. You can sort photos by date, location, or create your own themed albums.
Searching and identifying people's faces is carried out using several algorithms based on neural networks. You only need to enter the person’s name in the photo once and Tonfotos will search for it through all the photos in the photo archive.
The People section deserves special attention, where you can create a complete dossier for each person indicating family connections.
And for convenient visualization, Tonfotos can automatically generate family trees for each person separately, and the resulting image is immediately ready for printing in a printing house. To do this, just click on the appropriate button in the person’s profile and select the appropriate type and style of tree design.
ACDSee Photo Studio
The history of the project began back in 1994, when the first version (as an image viewer) of ACDSee for Windows 3.1 was presented. During its existence, the program has acquired new functions and capabilities, including the use of AI technologies. Today, ACDSee Photo Studio is a powerful tool for organizing photos that works well with various metadata, can recognize faces and find similar ones in other photographs, and display on the map the place where the photo was taken on a geotag.
The program has a wide range of image editing tools. For example, using ACDSee Photo Studio you can quickly change skin color, remove the red effect, or edit the background.
ACDSee Photo Studio is available in various editions. Professional allows you not only to organize photos, but also to perform deep multi-layer editing.
Adobe Lightroom Classic
Although it came out later than ACDSee, Lightroom Classic is one of the most popular programs for organizing and bulk editing photos. First of all, this is due to the fact that the program is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud apps ecosystem, which also includes Photoshop and Illustrator, which are popular among photographers and designers.
With Lightroom Classic, you can view and edit metadata, edit photos (change contrast, saturation, create an HDR effect, remove distracting details), and create print-ready photo albums. In addition, there is a built-in search and face recognition algorithm, which is convenient to use for organizing and searching for the desired photo by a specific person.
DigiKam
DigiKam is probably the most famous open source photo organizing software. Despite its popularity, the program is not easy to use, which is its significant drawback. In all other respects, DigiKam is not inferior to commercial solutions, and even surpasses in some functions.
The program supports several map services for visualizing a geolocation tag, which allows everyone to choose the best option.
DigiKam provides fine-tuning for searching and identifying people's faces. The user can not only select a model, but also the accuracy of the search, which hardware capabilities of the computer will be used.
XnView MP
XnView MP is a powerful photo viewing, organizing and basic editing application that supports over 500 image formats. The program is highly productive and cross-platform - it is available for Windows, macOS and Linux.
The main focus of XnView MP is on the convenience of organizing and managing photo archives. The program allows you to create categories, add keywords, tags and ratings for photos, which makes finding the right photo quick and efficient.
If you install a separate plugin, XnView MP will be able to recognize faces.
One of the key features of XnView MP is its support for batch image processing. You can resize, rename, convert format and apply filters to multiple photos at once. This is especially useful for working with large collections of images.
