Why do you need face search?
You may or may not be aware that using a face search tool is almost essential for anyone who has shared their photos online at some point.
A face search tool may help you:
- find exactly where your photos have been published online.
- check for potential leaks or copyright misuse.
- run a background verification on a potential date or someone new in your personal or professional life.
- double-check whether someone is a catfish or a fraudster.
- track where your images are being used online.
- proceed with Opt-Out requests on the websites that originally published your photos.
And of course, there are many more use cases. Face search can be used in almost every industry, from employee verification and copyright protection to OSINT and law enforcement investigations. The list of potential applications is almost endless.
Now that we know why face search can be useful, let's check which tools are both effective and affordable.
Cheaper alternatives to face search tools
1. Lenso.ai
Lenso.ai is one of the best face search tools while still being affordable. You can perform searches for free and only pay if you find a match and want to unlock the original source URLs.
Besides that, it offers domain and keyword filters, as well as sorting options to make your search more precise. You can also create Alerts for your images and receive email notifications whenever new matches appear. Free users can create up to 3 Alerts.
Price: Starts at $19.99/month. The Starter plan includes 50 source unlocks and 10 Alerts for new image appearances.
2. Eyematch.ai
Eyematch.ai is another affordable face search alternative. It is simple and focuses solely on face search. It does not offer advanced filters, but you can perform plenty of searches and have access to all face search results with the paid plan.
Price: Starts at $20.99/month. The Standard plan includes up to 40 searches per day, with all results unlocked.
3. Pimeyes.com
PimEyes is a well-known face search tool that will most likely find matches for you. It also offers an alerts feature and can help you with Opt-Out requests for the websites where your photos were originally published.
Price: Starts at $29.99/month, but they often offer discounts. Currently, there is a 30% discount on the Advanced plan, bringing the price down to $24.49/month.
Beware of cheap but scammy face search tools
We mentioned above some of the best face search tools that do the job while still being affordable. But of course, there are plenty of websites that promise a $1 or $5 "one-time payment." Please be careful with those, as most likely:
- you will not receive any useful results.
- within a few days, you may be automatically charged the full subscription price, while still not getting anything valuable.
The most common red flag is when you cannot see any results before paying, and the website immediately forces you to purchase a subscription. It is often a scam, and after payment you may either see no results at all or only completely irrelevant matches.
It is better to pay a little more for a legitimate face search tool that actually returns accurate matches, helps you find where your photos appear online, or detect a potential catfish.

How Reverse Image Search Catches Stolen Before-and-After Photos in Home Service Marketing
A tree service in one state removes a storm-damaged oak, photographs the cleanup, and posts the before-and-after shots on Instagram. Eighteen months later, a company three states away is running the exact same photos as their own work on a Google Business Profile, cropped slightly and stamped with a different logo. Nobody at the original company notices, because nobody's looking. Nobody at the second company worries about it, because nobody's ever gotten caught.
